ALBERT EINSTEIN

He was the pre-eminent scientist in a century dominated by science
The touchstone of the era
The father of modern science
Quantum physics and electronics all bear his imprint
Person of the century
He was the embodiment of pure intellect
The bombling professor with the German accent
A comic cliché in a thousand films
Instantly recognizable like Charlie Chaplin’s little tramp
His shaggy-haired visage was as familiar
To ordinary people as to the matrons
Who fluttered about him in salons from Berlin to Hollywood
Yet, he was unfathomably profound
The genius among genius
He who discovered merely by thinking about it
That the universe was not as it seemed

  1. Thank you for your sharp wisdom on Albert Einstein – on of my all-time heroes. You captured so well all the paradoxes and ambiguities that meet in that man’s life and work. I particularly loved these lines:
“the bombling professor with the German accent
A comic cliché in a thousand films
Instantly recognizable like Charlie Chaplin’s little tramp

    Wonderful – keep going!
